John Anderson started out as an electrician. A job site accident landed him at a drafting table.  Moving from the trades to project management on a string of progressively larger projects, in 1989 John joined the developers' staff for the Mall of America. The project exhausted any interest in segregated conventional suburban development. For the past 20 years, John has worked at the pragmatic intersection of design and development.

Mike Lydon is an internationally recognized planner, writer, and advocate for livable cities. His work has been featured by NPR, The New York Times, CNN Headline News, The Atlantic Cities, Planetizen, Grist, Salon, Next City, Architect Magazine, and Streetsblog.  He just released his latest book, Tactical Urbanism, a how-to guide for government leaders, public works officials, and citizens that details how to more quickly and strategically invest in streets and public spaces.

Jonathan grew up in Auburn and has returned to test his political aptitude as Mayor. Jonathan is perhaps most broadly known for his efforts to push for systematic change, while also engaging in direct communication with his constituents. From chemical engineering, to public administration, transportation planning, and land conservation at the Androscoggin Land Trust, he has a multi-disciplinary approach to economic development. He also currently serves as the Director of the Governor’s Office of Policy and Management for the LePage Administration.

Tom has over 25 years of experience in traffic engineering.  He is active in the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and is a National Member of ITE’s Complete Streets and Traffic Engineering Councils.  Tom was recently selected as a National Workshop Instructor for the National Complete Streets Coalition and recently managed and instructed 60 Complete Streets workshops for MassDOT. Tom was recognized by the New England Section of Institute of Transportation Engineers as the recipient of the 2013 Transportation Engineer of the Year Award.

Paul E. Peck has extensive real estate and business experience having permitted, financed, constructed, and sold over $60,000,000 of real estate, including his latest project in the West End of Portland, a mixed-use infill building that features 39 rental units, Rosemont Market, and coffee shop.  Paul serves as vice president of the Maine Real Estate and Development Association and is past president of the Portland Chamber of Commerce. Paul is also an attorney, avid skier (Sugarloafer since 1987), water skier, mountain biker, and gardener.

Vin has been involved in commercial real estate development, asset management, and marketing since 1987. Prior to his association with the J.B. Brown Company, he was a partner at North Atlantic Commercial Brokers in Portland and a commercial leasing manager with Northland Development Corporation. Vin's work includes a number of notable projects, including the Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Portland, one of the most well designed and executed projects to come out of the ground in Maine in the last 50 years, solidly placing him in the ranks of hero developer.
